I went and put in the description of what was wrong and the physician I seen knew she couldn’t see me but the Manager said she had to see me. The physician could not touch the area because she is not the cardiologist that put the device in. So basically it was a waste of my money being seen there because nothing could be done.

Was able to book an appointment over the phone in under 2 minutes. My provider was a female doctor who I’ve seen in the past but I forgot her name:( She’s fantastic, both my mom and I absolutely LOVE her. Kind, patient, to the point and excellent bedside manners. I’m hoping I don’t get sick again but if I do, I know exactly who to go to!

Overview of STD Testing in Richmond

Who should get tested for STDs?

Everyone who is sexually active should consider regular STD testing as part of their overall health routine. This is particularly true for individuals who have multiple sexual partners, engage in unprotected sex, or use intravenous drugs. According to the CDC, sexually active women under 25, men who have sex with men, and those with HIV should get tested more frequently.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning you could have an infection without knowing it. Untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased susceptibility to HIV. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of these complications. Additionally, knowing your STD status can help prevent the spread of these diseases to others.

Risk factors related to STDs in Richmond

Several factors contribute to the high STD rates in Richmond. These include a lack of comprehensive sex education, high poverty levels, and limited access to healthcare.
