I woke up this AM with UTI sx. My insurance sent me to Tran Urgent Care. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of scheduling, the care, and the prompt care as well. I would like to see an improved patient portal experience. The provider and staff were kind and knowledgeable.

Very easy to schedule appt for a same day. Was surprised by the fact that they are paperless and in order to view anything you have to download their app. It’s been 2 days and still no results, as for the medication you have to go on the appt and send it your self to the pharmacy otherwise you will not get it. Overall it was a good visit but it could have improved on some things for sure.

I went to Indigo for a second visit for the same ear infection. This time me I saw Michelle. She was wonderful. She listened to me, changed the medication and added one. After only two days I’m starting to feel a difference. The staff is always courteous, friendly and extremely efficient. My prescriptions are always called into the pharmacy even before I leave the office.  I really value this place. They bill my insurance and seldom make me wait more than a day or two to get in. I actually prefer it to my insurance physicians. BTW I was offered an appt in my network for an INFECTION in 4 months!  Unbelievable.

We were told the wait should be 30-40 minutes, but it was much longer. The staff was nice, but seemed rushed and overworked. This office needs additional doctors/nurses.

Overview of STD Testing in Tacoma

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for STDs, especially if they have multiple partners or engage in unprotected sex. Regular testing is crucial for those who identify as gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men, as these groups are at a higher risk for certain infections. Pregnant women should also get tested, as untreated STDs can have serious health impacts for both the mother and baby. According to the CDC, it's recommended to get tested at least once a year if you're sexually active, but more frequently if you're at higher risk.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a critical part of maintaining your overall health. Many STDs can be asymptomatic, meaning you may not experience any symptoms but can still pass the infection to others. Early detection through testing can help prevent the spread of these diseases and can lead to more effective treatment. Furthermore, untreated STDs can lead to serious health complications, including infertility, certain types of cancer, and increased risk of HIV.

STDs are a significant public health issue in Tacoma and the broader Pierce County. According to the CDC, Pierce County has seen an increase in the prevalence of STDs over the past few years, with chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis being the most common. The rates of these infections are higher than those in nearby counties like Lincoln, Sherman, and Wasco, and also exceed the national average.
