Always thoroughly appreciate the amazing staff at this location. Daughter came in with possible strep throat, and we were promptly seen! Definitely helps that we were able to call ahead to “check in”. Always highly recommend. Its also extremely clean and well staffed.

I love the scheduling approach where I was texted when a time opened up.  It was far less frantic, everyone did what was needed and the solution was spot on.  You’ve developed a great primary care model

Mary Bridge Children's Urgent Care is my favorite urgent care to go to. Convenient online scheduling, easy check-in process, fast wait times, concerns are addressed appropriately, friendly staff, and you're out in about an hour from start to finish. The only area that could be improved is if you have questions after your appointment, it's hard to get a hold of anyone, and then you don't get a call back. I highly recommend Mary Bridge Children's Urgent Care

Scheduling was easy via Solv, but no coordination between Solv and the office resulted in multiple duplicate bookings and unacceptable wait time.  2:30 appointment confirmed by Solv, actual check-in 4:55.  Staff was friendly and courteous, but front desk staff was overwhelmed.  Provider and staff were prompt once I was checked in and appointment was quick and efficient.  Care and bedside manner were top notch.

Jasmine, Sharlita (?), Bryan, and the other person we interacted with were all noticeably friendly and kind. Maybe it is no longer common practice for medical providers to sanitize or wash their hands when they come into the examination room? No one did that.

Recent COVID-19 Testing Reviews (20)

Very friendly, accessible staff. Easy in and out for a covid test.

- Verified patient on 11/25

We went for a child’s Covid test. They were quick and caring!

- Verified patient on 5/7

It went very smoothly. My doctor answered all my questions and her assistant did my Covid test very gentle. The last time I did my testing my nose bled all over the place and this time I barely felt it.

- Verified patient on 9/22

Upon check in I received a text saying there was no patients in front of me in line. However it still took a while just to be seen. I came in wanting a Covid test and end up getting an X-ray and an ekg. I’m young and healthy I think they should have ruled out Covid first before giving me a ekg and an X-ray. There was no communication to me as to how long it would take. I sat there for an hour.

- Verified patient on 3/18

I needed a Covid test. Easy, download the app solv, make an appointment, they text you. Every staff member was exceedingly kind. The person at the front desk, Jordan, was remarkable. She handled multiple phone calls, walk-ins, appointments, other staff, all with efficiency and grace. People called and came in that Indigo couldn't help, she referred every person to a facility that could, with address and other info. She is a very rare find. Plus, I was negative! Thank you.

Waited 25 mins before seen for covid testing.

I did the intake online for a travel COVID test and discussed with the individual going to the Olympia location on July 4th for the test. When I went this it was closed. I had to call around to find out the Lacey location was open. I understand that it is the holiday and location can close I just think you could have told me in advance, when it was discussed.

- Verified patient on 7/4

Super impressed with the competency and thoroughness demonstrated to me from check-in through check-out during my covid test visit. I actually enjoyed this experience--except for the actual swabbing part. That's a very unusual experience, but it's just par for the course. They made me feel comfortable and well cared for. Received my accurate PCR results in 15 minutes. I would highly recommend them!

- Verified patient on 2/25

I was checked in by river. She was knowledgeable, competent, and efficient. My Covid test was administered by Alisha, who was friendly and inspired confidence. Dr. Cruz was also friendly and approachable.

- Verified patient on 11/22

Paula Mekenna Reception very friendly Double check phone# masks distort #they did not confirm #so when they sent text I never recieved it. Patient came in with covid symptoms for covid testing. Had her sign to be treated and hippa…didn’t clean the electronic pen. There was some cleaning of counter and electronic pen an hour or so later. Some Music was not family friendly. Morgan and teresa were great as well

- Verified patient on 7/14

Theresa and Vanessa were amazing. I was having such a hard time allowing them to give me my Covid test, but they were so patient, understanding, and funny. 10/10 amazing employees!!

- Verified patient on 3/24

It was great. Manju saw that my wife, Rose, had a seizure and our family doctor asked us just to get covid test just in case and asked us a lot about the seizure and making sure that was our 1st priority.

- Verified patient on 7/10

Very efficient COVID testing process. Online appointments, called me the morning of to make sure I was actually in the window to avoid false negative test. Phone arrival notification, texted me when they were were ready for me to come in, really nice and caring staff. Great experience!

- Verified patient on 11/2

Super helpful and professional during these trying times. Covid test was quick and painless.

- Verified patient on 11/10

I was there for an covid test first of all. I arrived at 4 as a waitlist walk in, with was ok. I want on when I saw 4 ppl and one family go ahead of me when they arrived after me. The staff kept pulling names to pull to the back and one of them literally picked up my card, looked at it, put it back in the pile and grab another persons card in front of my face. At this time it has been an HR since I arrived. I asked a staff member how do the figure who comes back first? She said, “well normally we take care of the visions with appointments first then side walk ins between.” So I told her, indigo needs a better system because it was really rude what happened in front of my face and to me. You need to get TWO baskets that are labeled “appointments” “walk-ins”, so the customer doesn’t feel neglected or rejected waiting their turn. If you do that then the client be less stressed. Please get a new system

- Verified patient on 8/13

I was not sure what to expect, bringing in my coughing/wheezing/temp running 11 year old during a pandemic. I had her wait in the car while I checked in and there was a line literally out the door. Glad I had made an appointment. Upon seeing the line I was super worried about being rushed out, or having to wait a super long time. Our appointment was at 3:30, we were checked in around four. From there everything just got better. The staff was very friendly, kind, and sensitive to a sick, scared, little girl. They offered us a drink and we’re very nice. The nurse who took vitals was amazing, and very good with my daughter. She was gentle when administering the covid test, and very patient. The doctor came in and actually understood I was letting my girl answer the questions, and she asked my daughter them after that. I can’t answer all the questions, I’m not the one sick. The doctor took the time to be kind, patient, and more patient. She told us her thoughts and took the time to draw a diagram so my little girl could understand. She answered all seven million questions Katie had, and then asked me if I had any. The provider gave me a suggest plan and made sure I was okay with. Including what tests, why, what she saw and heard, and times on about how long each would take. We left with a COVID free little girl with a nasty case of bronchitis. The little girl left happy because the doctors office gave her hot chocolate, and was nice. We were there two hours, but it was time well spent and would have been much longer at an ER with out the care we received from indigo.

I was very nervous about getting my COVID test done, he was so gentle I felt no pain or discomfort I would highly recommend

- Verified patient on 5/12

Jordan was a bit rude when I called & asked how it worked with coming in for a Covid test, (I guess it's not being treated like the plague any longer) but still concerning to me because my husband has end stage liver disease. If I get Covid it could be my husbands end. I had checked in on line & kept checking to see if I had a message. She said that she had sent me a message 5 minutes ago. I later checked & the message was sent a minute before I called. She really does need better Front Desk receptionist training, she lacks people skills and sanitizing training. Myself and 3 others checked in & not once did she wipe down the machine we sign in on so cleanliness is a 3 because of her lack of asking the patient to please wait while she cleans it. When I was there previously I was asked to wait until she sanitized. My husband said wow she is rude. Good luck with her. Everyone else was friendly. Very attentive of my concerns.

Lacey COVID Testing & Rapid Testing

Types of COVID Tests

There are two types of coronavirus tests (COVID-19 tests) available, those that can test for a current infection (viral test) and those that can test for a past infection (antibody test).

Viral COVID testing can be done in a few different ways, the most common being nose swabs, but saliva tests are becoming more popular. Some tests are processed out on-site and can provide results in as little as 30 minutes. These are called rapid COVID tests. The majority of tests, on the other hand, are collected at the clinic on-site and then submitted to off-site labs for processing. Results can take up to 2-3 days to arrive.

Antibody testing looks for a past infection and may not reveal if you have an active COVID-19 infection because antibodies can take up to three weeks to form in your body. The presence of COVID antibodies may help to prevent you from becoming infected with the same virus again; but, because the clinical understanding of COVID-19 is still developing, it's unclear how long that protection will continue.

Who should get tested for current infection

The CDC currently defines four instances where COVID testing is recommended:

  1. If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.
  2. If you have been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19. Close contact is defined as within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. If you have been vaccinated, or tested positive in the past 3 months and not experiencing symptoms, you do not need to be tested.
  3. If you are unvaccinated and participated in high-risk activities where distancing is not an option. This could include travel, large social or mass gatherings, crowded indoor settings, etc.
  4. If you have been referred to get a COVID test by your healthcare provider or local health department.

How is testing done for COVID-19?

Most COVID tests are collected by a nasal swab. A member of the medical team puts a swab inside your nose for a few seconds on each side to collect the sample. After that, the samples are packaged according to CDC guidelines and tested on-site or transported to a facility for testing. The lab will test samples for the presence of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which causes COVID infection and either your care provider or the lab will notify you with the results as soon as they are available.

PCR vs Antigen Testing

Viral COVID tests are available as molecular and antigen tests. The molecular test, also known as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, usually delivers results within a few days since most of these tests are sent to offsite labs for analysis. The average turnaround time for PCR test results is 48 hours, but in some instances may be significantly longer due to backlogs related to insufficient lab volume and capacity. Antigen tests are also known as rapid tests and have an average turnaround time of between 15 to 30 minutes.

Both PCR and rapid COVID tests can be used to test people exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, those who were close contacts to COVID-19, and those without COVID-19 symptoms who live or work in a high-risk setting (such as a nursing facility); or those individuals who are identified as part of outbreak detection and response. The rapid COVID test is also recommended for the screening of residents or healthcare workers at skilled nursing facilities along with a PCR confirmation, and for repeat screening for the early detection and prevention of outbreaks in congregate settings (such as schools, workplaces, and prisons).

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. To reduce the risk of facing extra costs related to COVID testing, ask your primary care doctor to recommend a free COVID test site, and confirm there are no charges or fees for the test that are not covered by your insurance plan. Additionally, avoid getting a COVID test at a hospital or free-standing emergency room, as these facilities may charge fees for COVID testing and related services.

COVID-19 Testing FAQs

  • How much does COVID testing cost in Lacey?

In many cases, COVID testing can be free. Many state and local health departments continue to offer free testing to community residents as part of their response to the pandemic. In other cases, commercially insured patients, or those on Medicare or Medicaid, may receive testing at no out of pocket cost, or with a nominal office visit copay. For cash paying patients, or those that need rapid COVID testing which will deliver results in under an hour, COVID tests can range from $50 to $150 each. It is best to call your healthcare provider prior to getting tested to better understand the cost of the specific test you require.

  • Where can I get free COVID testing in Lacey?

COVID testing is available for free under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, which includes testing for those without health insurance. Check with your Lacey-area health department as they are generally a good source for free COVID tests, or can at least point you in the right direction. Additionally, you can ask your primary care provider to recommend a free COVID test site.

  • Where can I get COVID testing in Lacey?

COVID testing is available at many outlets near Lacey including urgent care centers, retail clinics, primary care offices, health departments, and more. Different venues will have different types of tests available, many at different price points. Some testing sites are allowing walk-in patients, however, many are still requiring some degree of advance booking to control patient volume.

  • Where can I get a rapid COVID test in Lacey?

Rapid testing—both PCR (molecular) and antigen tests—is offered through many Lacey-area urgent care centers and physician offices, usually at an additional cost ranging from $50 up to $150 per test. Usually this will allow you to get results back in under an hour, and require advanced booking through the provider. However, if you can wait 24 hours for your results, many labs are turning around send-out lab tests in that time frame, which could save you some money.

  • How to make an appointment for COVID testing in Lacey?

Same-day and next day appointments for COVID testing in Lacey are bookable directly through Solv. Simply browse the list of healthcare providers conducting COVID tests above, find one with a “Book Online” button, and book a time that aligns with your schedule stating “COVID-19 Test” as your reason for visit.

  • Can I get tested for antibodies if I am sick with COVID-19 Lacey?

An antibody test for COVID-19 might inform you if you previously had a coronavirus infection. Because it can take between 1–3 weeks after an infection for your body to develop these antibodies, an antibody test during an active infection would not be successful. To see if you are currently infected, you need a viral test.

  • Do I need a COVID test if I have been vaccinated?

Even if you have been fully vaccinated, if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, experts believe that you should be tested yourself, particularly if you are experiencing cold and flu symptoms commonly aligned with the coronavirus.

  • How long does COVID testing take?

Getting a COVID test is quick. Most tests are done with a nasal swab, which takes less than a minute to swab both nostrils. Depending on where you get your COVID test, this means you could be in and out of the testing site in as little as 10-15 minutes. During busy times—particularly around holidays—testing sites may be busier than usual and wait times may be longer.

  • How long does it take to get COVID test results in Lacey?

Most labs are returning send-out molecular (PCR) COVID test results within 24-48 hours of the test. Some sites take longer, so call and ask if the reason for the test is proof for travel. Rapid COVID tests are processed on-site and are able to deliver results in under an hour, sometimes in as little as 15 min.

  • Do COVID tests detect the Delta variant and Omicron variant?

Regular COVID tests are able to detect both the Delta variant and Omicron variant in that they can determine whether or not you have the coronavirus. However, they can't tell which variation is involved. That would necessitate genomic sequencing, which is a different process from regular virus testing that not all labs can undertake. Sequencing is uncommon and can cost up to $100 per test. Since the treatment is the same for any variant, it is not clinically useful to an individual patient to know whether the infection was caused by a variant or not.
