Woke up with symptoms of Strep Throat, something I’ve suffered from a lot ever since I was a kid. Scheduling was easy. Wait time was practically non-existent. Nurse was very nice and patient as I struggled to speak with a swollen throat. Doctor was with me quickly. Very friendly and nice. Nurse did my swab for quick testing. My test came back negative, but they prescribed me medications anyways. I asked if they could run a lab on my swab, because my swab test for Strep has always come back negative ever since I was a child. Doctor refused to do so and said they were treating it like Tonsillitis instead. Sent me on my way without asking if I needed a doctor’s note; had to reenter the building to get my doctor’s note written for my two jobs. Doctor prescribed antibiotics, but also prescribed me cough drops for throat pain. Cough drops aren’t meant for throat pain, and I’m not coughing.

Appt was at 10:40. I walked in, was immediately greated by a very friendly nurse who escorted me to an exam room. She entered information about my illness and insurance into the computer and processed my co-pay. Another nurse took my temp, blood pressure, pulse and oxygen level. Very soon after, the doctor came in to discuss my symptoms and examed my ears, nose, throat and breathing. She discussed medicine options to decide best approach for me to proceed. She ordered prescriptions from my chosen pharmacy and sent me on my way. It was my best overall experience with seing a physician. No delays in waiting room or exam room. Fast friendly service that involved my thoughts on the decision on the treatment chosen!

When I have orders for blood work, I always go to Compunet on Breiel Blvd. in Middletown, Ohio. I have been going to this location for many years. The location is very convenient, the wait time is minimal, and Emily, the staff member who helped me, was the best I have ever encountered there. I hope you continue to operate this lab location. Five out of five stars!!

It was awesome. I checked in on the tablet and someone called me in less than 5 minutes later. Took only a few minutes to draw blood. Love how one person was validating my information while the other drew the blood. Fast, efficient and I think from the time I walked in until I walked out was only 10 minutes. For simple things like blood draws that is how things should go.

I am not one to write reviews but this place completely exceeded expectations. All of the staff were extremely friendly, and even though I came in for anxiety issues, I did not feel nervous in here. They were really timely about everything as well, I walked in and was able to get referred to a psychiatrist, prescribed medication, blood drawn, and amazing care when I passed out afterwards because I’m a huge baby when it comes to blood, even though it was actually completely painless, they did a great job!

I have been here mulitple times they have very friendly doctors that seem to know a variety of diffrent things and are educated in alot of areas ....like Lansing ...heart issue ....i also had cellulitis ..ive been pleased everytime and it was pretty quick also they did much needed blood work😉I pass them everyday and wish I wouldve known how easy it was to see them I woukdve been using them years ago!

I went to the wrong Beavercreek location. I was welcomed and she was so nice to switch my appointment location. I was still able to be seen at my scheduled time. While I was waiting, an elderly lady came in and was confused with the iPad login. The receptionist came out and was so nice as she helped the lady sign in. The girl that took my blood was very nice and friendly.

Reception gal was efficient and helped as needed. But was not real good at listening as she was trying to multi task things and that is never good when a customer is talking to her directly. Just saying.... the other gals I dealt with administering the blood draw and coding the vile were to notch in my opinion. One other gal I spoke with about my PSA draw orders was very helpful and the insurance issue I was worried about did not materialize as she said it should and would be fine. Good and very smooth visit. Thanks to one and all!

Everyone was very nice, very friendly and helpful. Smiles exuberated even under their masks. Even the vampiret (girl vampire) who took my blood was just wonderful. She was in and out. Grabbed that blood and ran. Haha. She was excellent with the needle. She was born and raised in Oberlin and I lived there 19 years so we had a lot in common. She was a sweetie!! I hardly felt the needle. Everybody was very personable and happy to help people.

Today was the first time I didn’t have to wait forever. It was so nice. I did notice there were several more techs than usual plus someone sitting at the desk. That was nice also. The person who took my blood was excellent. Never felt the needle go in and she didn’t scrape the vein wall looking for a blood return. Did not get her name. Very nice visit today.

As much as one can enjoy being stuck for blood, these folks make it so. They're always super friendly and it never takes very long once you're back with them. Wait times are very reasonable... sometimes they take me back as soon as I sign in. In my opinion, they do an outstanding job and I've always been very pleased with their efforts on my behalf. I'd absolutely recommend them to my family & friends.

- Verified patient on 10/25

The lady taking blood in the lab was FABULOUS! She was so nice & personable. She actually made the appointment fun! By far my best appointment of the MANY I have had recently. Also, the lady behind the counter at the lab was a SAINT! An older gentleman came in after me & immediately started shouting at her when she asked for his photo I’d & insurance card. He came in angry & there was absolutely nothing she could have done to please him. However, she was so calm & kind to him. She apologized for needing his cards & explained it was just procedure. Her positive attitude didn’t faulted once! I wish I would have gotten names, but my appointment was on 3/24/*** around 3:30. Hopefully that helps find these great gals!

The lady technicians we're very friendly and technically well versed. And truly kind and helpful. It was very smooth and quick and almost painless, considered neighbors sticking me with a big old needle and taking blood but one try got all the blood they needed quick and easy. I hope all my future your lab and staff can go equally as smooth. I can't overstate how professional and kind.

Other than there being an issue with my check in, and having to wait about 30 minutes past my scheduled appt to even get in the building, and being put on eternal hold whilst trying to let them know I was still waiting... The Dr and nurse were great. Both were very sweet and helpful. I wish the Dr had her own private practice, she's that sweet. Her nurse took my blood the best, quickest and most painless that I've ever experienced.

We choose this lab over others in the area due to the staff welcoming us and making it easy to get in and out, as well as staffs ability to draw blood. The people have difficulty checking in that aren’t familiar with the technology and cannot see to enter on the tablet check in. It would be helpful if it was wheelchair accessible, and a help option, such as an intercom or doorbell type, for staff to assist those customers having difficulty checking in. When other patients help them, they have to tell us their reason for visit, name, phone number, and personal information.

had to convince attending to examine my eye more carefully for abrasion and not just write it off a subconjuctive hematoma caused by my extremely well controlled blood pressure and stress. I had to point out the bright red blood under the membrane was completely fluid and disbursable under slight pressure.she was however, willing to accommodate the patients request by applying the dye for the abrasion exam and did prescribed an antibiotic along with a referral to a ophthalmologist.

Over my 70+ years of seeing various doctors, medical specialists—I am MOST impressed with the care of Jonathan Drumm, NP. In June, ***, I had blood drawn as a normal procedure. It turns out it wasn’t “so normal”!! Jonathan recommended a certain specialist. It turns out I have the “early” stages of Leukemia. VERY EARLY STAGES!! Much easier to treat!! I owe Jonathan a deep gratitude of thanks. This guy should continue his education into medical school. The people of Chattanooga are missing out of a chance of having ONE GREAT PHYSICIAN!! Love this clinic. Just needed lab work /blood draw. Took me in right away when I walked in. Very helpful and friendly staff. Everyone there is helpful and upbeat. I am not a Dr or hospital fan but they make it a great experience. This is my go to place for any lab work. I would use them for any of their services if I needed them.

This was my first time to TriCore in Edgewood. I wish I knew the technician name, it was on Jan 21, *** a little after 9:30am, screen 2, this guy was fantastic! He was very friendly, easy to talk to, calmed my nerves before I knew it he was done drawing my blood. Just a little prick, which is normal and absolutely no bruising afterwards. I really hope the next time I have to get blood drawn, I get him again. Other than that, it was a very clean place. No one works at the front window, walk in, take a ticket and wait for your number to be called. The day I was there it was not a long wait, maybe 5 minutes or less.

- Verified patient on 9/6

I arrived at the blood lab and was greeted in a friendly manner by the person at the window. As in signed in she efficiently found the my physician’s order. I waited for a short period of time until the nurse opened the door, asked me in and directed me to a chair. She asked for my name and date of birth, swabbed my arm and painlessly drew blood. Immediately afterward the nurse put a small part over the place in which she had inserted the needle, secured the pad with tape and advised me to remove the pad and tape after ten minutes. She wished me a good day and I was on my way. The entire experience was swift, efficient and stress free.

The phlebotomist said she was taking my blood “old school,” did not tie me off, have me make a fist or tap on the vein. It really hurt and she couldn’t get blood after two sticks, so another person had to do the third one. I am very bruised. I now have to come back and have it redrawn because the lab results said my specimen was only partially spun. With my bruises I will not be able to be retested in time for the appointment with my doctor. I have never had these problems before with this lab.

- Verified patient on 8/9

Was very quick and painless. Staff listened to me and did what I asked. Didn’t argue with me. And that usually happens when I have blood draws. I am a hard stick in my arms. I asked her to use my hand. She did without question. I waited for about 2 minutes which is unheard of! I was a walk in. She was very nice and energetic. I would recommend using Compunet in Troy.

About Blood Tests

Blood tests are used as valuable snapshots of your current overall health and can be an effective way of catching illness or disease early, or measuring how you are reacting to new or on-going treatment. There are a variety of types of blood work with most common tests being complete blood counts (CBC), complete and basic metabolic panels (CMP, BMP), thyroid panels, nutrient tests, and sexually transmitted disease (STD) tests.

Each of these blood tests are fairly common and can be performed in a variety of settings including testing labs, primary care offices, urgent care centers, and even retail clinics and some pharmacies. Solv even has clinic partners in the Troy-area that offer online scheduling, allowing you to book a visit convenient to your schedule and skip the wait. The tests themselves take only a few minutes and usually are performed by a nurse or technician where they:

  1. Clean the area where they will draw blood from, usually your upper arm
  2. Tie a band to your upper arm to make your veins more visible
  3. Put a needle gently into a vein to draw blood into the attached tube
  4. Remove the needle, then the band from the vein when complete
  5. Cover the draw site with a bandage

Risks associated with blood work are very low, but could possibly include slight pain or discomfort at the draw site, dizziness or even fainting from blood loss, or vein puncture. It’s important to discuss any concerns you may have with your medical provider before the procedure begins.

They offer a great way to catch illness or disease early on, or see how you are progressing with on-going treatment. Your doctor or healthcare provider typically orders blood tests for you during an annual physical or as necessary for a specific diagnosis. It’s possible to order your own blood tests without a doctor, particularly for things like STD tests or hemoglobin A1c tests.

Without insurance, blood work typically costs between $50 to $1,000, or sometimes more depending on the specific tests and the provider type you are having the tests performed at. At-home tests are available in most areas and could cost substantially less. • How long do blood tests take?

Blood tests can be performed either in-office or performed on samples that are sent to an outside lab. The collection itself should only take a few minutes, and the results could be ready within a few hours or up to one to two weeks depending on the test you are getting done. Once you’ve received your results, your doctor can discuss them with you either in-person, on the phone, or through a video visit.

  • Is blood work covered by my insurance?

Most common blood tests are covered under insurance plans, particularly when your doctor orders them as part of an annual physical or supporting a diagnosis. If you are self prescribing the test, however, it may not be covered by insurance. If you have questions about your specific insurance coverage, it is best to contact your carrier or your provider.
