Everyone was wonderful from front desk, to X-ray tech, to physician. The care was great.  The only thing I didn’t understand was why you have no durable supplies , like ask arm sling, which for the cost of the visit, should have been included.  I would highly recommends Urgi Care to my family and friends.

This is the first place I actually liked everything was very clean people were friendly. Mostly loved how the nurses cleaned up and sanitizer before I entered the exam room. I really appreciated because it makes me feel safe and I know the person after will be safe as well! You guys are doing great! Keep up the good work! I know it isn't easy by how many people filled up the lobby In 10 minutes. Thanks again!

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

According to the CDC, anyone who has been exposed to blood or body fluids of an infected person, has had unprotected sex with an infected person, or has shared needles during drug use should be tested for hepatitis. Additionally, those who have traveled to countries with high hepatitis prevalence, have been incarcerated, or are men who have sex with men should also consider testing. In Crestwood, IL, and its surrounding areas such as Alsip, Palos Heights, Robbins, Worth, and Midlothian, it's crucial to be aware of these risk factors and seek testing if you fall into these categories.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is essential as it can lead to severe liver diseases, including cirrhosis and liver cancer, if left untreated. It's also important because hepatitis can be asymptomatic, meaning you could be infected and not show any symptoms, unknowingly transmitting the virus to others. Early detection through testing can lead to effective treatment and prevention of further spread.

Hepatitis testing options in Crestwood, IL:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

There are several urgent care and walk-in clinics in and around Crestwood, IL, where you can get tested for hepatitis. Midwest Express Clinic in Calumet Park and UrgiClinic Urgent Care in Bridgeview are highly rated and offer hepatitis testing services. You can book same-day or next-day appointments at these clinics through Solv’s website and mobile app.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider is another excellent resource for hepatitis testing. If you have commercial insurance through your employer, this testing is usually covered.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers and free STD testing clinics also provide hepatitis testing. These centers are crucial resources, especially for those who may not have insurance or who are seeking confidential testing.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits for hepatitis are also available and can be a convenient option for those who prefer to test themselves in the privacy of their own home.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Crestwood

While specific data on hepatitis prevalence in Crestwood, IL, is not readily available, Cook County, where Crestwood is located, has reported a significant number of hepatitis cases. Comparatively, the rates of hepatitis in Crestwood and nearby areas like Alsip, Palos Heights, Robbins, Worth, and Midlothian are consistent with those in other parts of the county and the state.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Crestwood

Risk factors for hepatitis in Crestwood include unprotected sex, sharing needles, and exposure to infected blood or body fluids. It's also worth noting that individuals who have other STDs, like gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, or syphilis, are at a higher risk of contracting hepatitis.

Other STDs in Crestwood

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also prevalent in Crestwood and surrounding areas. It's important to get tested regularly for all STDs if you're sexually active, especially if you have multiple partners or engage in unprotected sex. As with hepatitis, you can get tested for these STDs at local urgent care centers, primary care providers, community health centers, or at home.
