Everybody was friendly, but 4 different medical personnel entered the room at various times and not one introduced themselves. Also, I didn’t receive discharge paperwork with my son’s diagnoses and new medications the provider prescribed. My son received an xray, per my request. I wanted to know if he had pneumonia. The provider never said if he did or not. She said “ he’s a little congested.” Nonetheless, I wouldn’t recommend this location.

Every thing was so so simple.. I got Online. Picked my time to come in. Showed up. Got in within arrival a few minutes later. They for a Saturday on a holiday (Thanksgiving) weekend were not busy at all. I came in at 3:41 pm was out by 4:00ish diagnosed and with prescription in hand. Yes , no having to then leave and use another place for pharmacy. Dr. Kayla was fantastic. Listening to everything I had to say. I would highly recommend her or any of the other providers at this location. Then Ann in the pharmacy was just as kind and took care of us promptly too. So I would recommend stopping in here anytime you have a matter that needs attention during the hours they're open and you can't get in to your own dr. Thanks everyone I see you again next time. Keep up the amazing job over there at Get Well Urgent in Madison Heights.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone can contract hepatitis, but some individuals are at a higher risk and should consider getting tested. These include people who have been in close contact with someone infected with hepatitis, individuals who have engaged in unprotected sex, drug users who share needles, healthcare workers, and those who have traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis. Additionally, if you have symptoms such as jaundice, fatigue, nausea, or abdominal pain, it's crucial to get tested.

Importance of getting tested

Hepatitis, if left untreated, can lead to severe liver damage, including cirrhosis and liver cancer. Early detection through testing allows for prompt treatment, potentially preventing these serious complications. According to the CDC, testing can also help prevent the spread of hepatitis, as individuals who know they are infected can take steps to protect others.

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost hepatitis testing, making it accessible to those with financial constraints. These centers also provide education and resources to help individuals understand their results and next steps.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are becoming increasingly popular for their convenience and privacy. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and sent back to a lab for results. It's important to ensure the test is FDA-approved for accuracy.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Southfield

While specific data for Southfield is not readily available, Oakland County, where Southfield is located, has seen a steady rate of hepatitis cases. Comparatively, this rate is similar to nearby counties such as Chautauqua County and Beaver County. It's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher, as many people with hepatitis are unaware they are infected.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Southfield

Risk factors in Southfield mirror those on a national level. These include unprotected sex, drug use, and close contact with an infected person. Socioeconomic factors such as access to healthcare and education also play a role in the prevalence of hepatitis.
