I have been to this facility a few times when I have had to take my child in times when her Pediatrician was away. They have taken care of her and even given me a referral so that I may take her to a specialist to further evaluate her. It's not very far from my home at all. I'm glad they are also available after my child gets out of school, since her pediatrican's last appt. is at 3:30, I have time to go to Metro-UrgiCare and feel reassured.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Any individual who is sexually active, particularly with multiple partners, should consider getting tested for hepatitis. This is especially true for those who have not been vaccinated for hepatitis A and B. Other individuals who should get tested include those who share needles or other drug paraphernalia, healthcare or public safety workers who are exposed to blood on the job, and individuals with certain medical conditions, such as chronic liver disease or HIV. According to the CDC, people born from 1945 to 1965, often referred to as baby boomers, are five times more likely to have hepatitis C than other adults and should also be tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial for both personal health and public safety. Hepatitis, if left untreated, can lead to serious health issues such as liver disease, liver cancer, and cirrhosis. Early detection through testing allows for immediate treatment, reducing the risk of these severe complications. Additionally, knowing your hepatitis status can help prevent the spread of the disease to others.
