The NP was ok But the medical assistant inserted the needle too deep in my veins or either the needle was too big l bleed a lot after she took out the needle the blood was so much itโ€™s dripping into my white pans, at my age that was the first time that happening to me l think she needs more training in that level.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who has been exposed to the hepatitis virus should get tested. This includes individuals who have shared needles, had unprotected sex, traveled to countries with high hepatitis prevalence, or have a family history of the disease. According to the CDC, baby boomers (born between 1945 and 1965) are also at a higher risk and should get tested, as they may have been infected without knowing it.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial because it can lead to serious health complications if left untreated, including liver disease and cancer. Early detection allows for prompt treatment, which can prevent these complications and improve quality of life. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis do not experience symptoms until liver damage has occurred, so regular testing is essential for those at risk.

While specific data for Branchburg is not readily available, Somerset County, where Branchburg is located, has seen a steady increase in hepatitis cases over the years, mirroring the national trend. It's important to note that the actual number of cases may be higher, as many people with hepatitis are unaware they have the disease.

Risk factors for hepatitis in Branchburg are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, drug use, and travel to high-risk countries. Additionally, the presence of other STDs can increase the risk of contracting hepatitis.
