Everyone in the clinic was helpful and kind.  I was very impressed.  The computers were down when I was there about took a bit longer than it would have otherwise.  I would definitely recommend and use again.

Staff were very nice but seemed like lip service. Told us what medications would be sent to pharmacy but only sent one (1) of three(3). Called two times and left two messages but received no call back and the two prescriptions not sent were never received by pharmacy. I need those medications to recover. The pharmacist stated this is not uncommon with medications sent via online. Receipt should have been verified.  We finally did receive other two prescriptions. Thank you very much!

Walk in- waited less than 10 minutes. The staff was very friendly. Penny Holley was my NP. She was personable, knowledgeable and got me taken care of. She even went to the trouble to write down some preventative over the counter meds that would help.  When I left they all told me Happy New Year and they hoped I would feel better soon. I give them an A+.

Hands down one of my favorite pop-in clinics! The staff is exceptional from the front desk to the provider. I love how personable the women of the office are! I am greeted by name everytime I walk-in! The receptionist even asks about my family from previous conversations I've had with her! Makes me feel at home. Jennifer Dunn is the best provider ever! I feel like she is a best friend in a way! This office and entire staff truly care here. I highly recommend them.

About Hepatitis test

Who should get tested for hepatitis?

Anyone who has been exposed to the hepatitis virus, either through sexual contact, sharing of needles, or from mother to child during childbirth, should get tested. This includes individuals who have had unprotected sex, have used or currently use injectable drugs, have a sexual partner who is infected with hepatitis, or have lived with someone who has hepatitis. Those who have received a tattoo or piercing in an unclean environment with unsterilized equipment are also at risk. It's important to note that hepatitis can be asymptomatic, meaning you could be infected and not show any symptoms, hence the importance of getting tested.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for hepatitis is crucial for several reasons. Firstly, it allows for early detection, which can lead to better treatment outcomes and prevent serious complications such as liver disease and liver cancer. Secondly, knowing your status can help prevent the spread of the virus to others. According to the CDC, many people with hepatitis are unaware they are infected, contributing to the transmission of the disease.

Hepatitis testing options in Cordova, TN:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care centers and walk-in clinics are convenient options for hepatitis testing. They typically offer same-day appointments and extended hours. AFC Urgent Care in Memphis, TN, just a short drive from Cordova, is one such location where you can book a same-day or next-day testing appointment through Solv.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also conduct a hepatitis test. This can be particularly beneficial if you have a longstanding relationship with your provider, as they will have a comprehensive understanding of your medical history.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing, including for hepatitis. These centers can be a valuable resource for those without insurance or with limited financial resources.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are another option for hepatitis testing. These kits can be ordered online, used in the privacy of your own home, and then sent back to a lab for analysis. Results are typically available within a few days.

Prevalence of hepatitis in Cordova

While specific data for Cordova is not readily available, Shelby County, where Cordova is located, has seen a rise in hepatitis cases in recent years. This increase mirrors national trends, as the CDC reports that hepatitis cases have been on the rise across the country. It's important to note that these numbers may not reflect the true prevalence of hepatitis, as many cases go unreported due to lack of symptoms.

Risk factors related to hepatitis in Cordova

Risk factors for hepatitis in Cordova are similar to those in other parts of the country. These include unprotected sex, sharing of needles, and receiving tattoos or piercings in unclean environments. Additionally, individuals who have lived in or traveled to areas with high rates of hepatitis, such as certain parts of Asia and Africa, may be at increased risk.

Other STDs in Cordova

In addition to hepatitis, other STDs such as gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis are also present in Cordova and the surrounding areas. As with hepatitis, these STDs can be asymptomatic and spread unknowingly. Therefore, regular testing is crucial for those at risk.
