I had selected this facility because on the website it said they helped with sleeping and breathing problems, both of which were why I was there. Unfortunately they didn't really do anything, all I got was an EKG and then the PA that attended to me recommended I go straight to the ER for further testing.

I have been to Lani City Urgent Care many times and have always been happy with the results especially this time. Nurse practitioner Dilpreet Gill examined and diagnosed me with appendicitis.  She gave me a referral to the ER and within the next few hours I was in surgery getting my appendix removed. So thankful for Urgent Care,

Getting Tested for STDs in Ontario, CA

Who should get tested for STDs?

Anyone who is sexually active should consider getting tested for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This is particularly important for individuals who have multiple sexual partners, those who do not consistently use protection during sexual activity, and those who have symptoms suggestive of an STD. It's also crucial for pregnant women to get tested, as some STDs can be passed from mother to child during childbirth.

Importance of getting tested

Getting tested for STDs is a crucial part of maintaining your overall health. Some STDs do not present symptoms immediately, or at all, but can still cause significant health problems if left untreated. Regular testing allows for early detection and treatment, reducing the risk of complications. It also helps prevent the spread of these diseases, as knowing your status can encourage safer sexual practices.

STD testing options in Ontario, CA:

Urgent care and walk-in clinics

Urgent care and walk-in clinics offer convenient, same-day STD testing. These facilities, such as Carbon Health Urgent Care in Chino, provide a friendly and professional environment for your healthcare needs. With Solv, you can easily book same-day and next-day appointments at these clinics.

Primary care providers

Your primary care provider can also conduct STD testing. This can be a comfortable option if you have an established relationship with your doctor.

Free STD testing and community health centers

Community health centers often offer free or low-cost STD testing. These centers, funded by the government or non-profit organizations, aim to provide accessible healthcare services to all, regardless of income.

At-home testing

At-home testing kits are a convenient option for those who prefer privacy. These kits can be ordered online, used at home, and sent back to a lab for results.

Prevalence of STDs in Ontario

Ontario, located in San Bernardino County, has seen a rise in STD cases over the past few years. According to the CDC, the county's STD rates are higher than the national average. This trend is not unique to Ontario or San Bernardino County, as many parts of the country are experiencing a similar increase in STD cases.

Risk factors related to STDs in Ontario

Several factors contribute to the high STD rates in Ontario. These include a lack of education about STDs, limited access to healthcare services, and social and economic factors. Additionally, stigma around STDs can discourage individuals from seeking testing and treatment.

In comparison to nearby counties such as San Diego County and La Paz County, San Bernardino County has a higher prevalence of STDs. This suggests a need for increased STD awareness and testing services in the area. With 1098 testing locations available through Solv, residents of Ontario and surrounding cities like Upland, Montclair, Chino, Rancho Cucamonga, and Claremont have numerous options for convenient and accessible STD testing.
