American Family Care (AFC Urgent Care) Locations in Homewood, AL

Although my total time at AFC was 2 hours, and much longer than it normally is, I feel like it was an adequate amount of time during lunch hour (peak time when people go). Once I was back in the room, my wait time wasn’t long, or at least it didn’t feel that way.  The NP I saw was lovely but I felt a little frustrated that she didn’t state a diagnosis out loud and it wasn’t until I was on my way out the door when I realized that I was only diagnosed with seasonal allergies. I would have disagreed with this and asked for antibiotics because I can tell this ain’t regular allergies (they have not ever caused this level of discomfort) and it likely a bacterial or sinus infection. This will likely prolong my healing unfortunately.  I was pretty displeased that the MCA/tech who did my steroid injection did so in a manner that seems he was very nervous or it was one of the first times. The needle went in the first time pretty slowly, which made me jump, he pulled the needle back out and used the same needle to then push into my skin again. I’m not thrilled that this happened because it should have been a different needle and there is a far quicker and better way of performing injections (such as dart-like motion which gives more control). I ask that you all do a retraining of performing injections if a nurse, NP, or physician is not the ones to do the injections. Outside of these two negative parts of my review, everything was lovely as usual and I will still come back because everyone here is very friendly and the office is very clean

Felt very attended to and meds were called right in.  I didn’t feel rushed.  Everyone was friendly and helpful. I have already recommended this provider.

Still having bck pains have a new prescription hopefully that will work. Overall everything else was great!😘

Scheduling was easy. Staff was really friendly. Stephanie was great, she did a blood draw and I didn't feel a thing.

I was accepted quickly as a walk in by friendly staff. Seen by more friendly staff in the back and given my diagnosis. All in time to get my prescriptions before my pharmacy closed for the night. Thank you AFC Gardendale!

I had pain and swelling in my right foot, I went to American Family Care and they saw me without an appointment. The staff was friendly and the doctor was very thorough in the questions she was asking me. They did X-Rays on my foot and I didn’t have to wait very long for the results. The doctor had excellent bedside manner. I would recommend her.

Wasn’t feeling my best. Went to AFC in McCalla. The staff is always nice and friendly. They went as fast as they could. Place was crowded. Treatment was good.

I didn't have any appt (walk in) and got taken care of fairly quickly . The only thing was the dr. Couldn't speak English very well and it was hard to understand her.

Received the best care with great consideration and understanding.. will definitely be back to same location everytime
